Hey, lets have a "TeaBreak Toolbar"!

Yesterday I was studying for the "great" Human-Computer Interaction exam next week and I came across this "idea" to build a toolbar for TeaBreak. So there I go trying to come up with a suitable toolbar that would increase productivity and engage the audience.

Considering that people are very skeptical about adding any new toolbar to their already ugly-looking browsers, it was critical that the newly envisioned TeaBreak toolbar must provide something good that doesn't already exist out there. Trying to cater that it occurred to me that it could be a good start to provide a one-click discussion and interaction solution for the Pakistani bloggers in the form of a discussion board and live chat-room easily accessible from the toolbar.

In addition to that Pakistan's news and Teabreak feeds would provide a nice value for the users to stay up to date. And because TeaBreak was initially started to provide a nice refreshing portal that the users can enjoy while taking a tea break from work, study, or their routine - I thought to throw in some entertainment options like Games and TV channels.

Most of the widgets work without making you visit a certain website. Instead they open up in small sub-windows with in your browser, easily collapsible to be unobtrusive and allowing you to continue browsing. The toolbar is dynamically updateable from a control panel at our end so that allows us to manage and keep it up-to-date.

Another feature that is there is LIVE coverage of events like Conferences, Seminars, etc. TeaBreak Toolbar is able to provide a one-click widget based coverage. :)

Anyhow, enough of the Tea Bragging. Theres a lot more to witness and develop once I get through the exams in one piece. The thing that occurred to me is that Toolbars can be a very nice interactive tool to supplement community-based websites. Point to be noted when you are thinking about extending your web-community.
